Each of these 1935A series emergency bills was printed with a brown seal instead of the usual blue seal on Silver Certificates. The word Hawaii is printed on both sides. If these bills fell into enemy hands, they would have simply been demonetized and made worthless.
Aug 03, 2003 · I have some one dollar silver certificates from 1935 too, and was wondering if they were worth anything. Everyone says to give a good description, so I'll do my best. The first one is a series 1935 C and the serial is I82364E. The second is a series 1935 C serial number L50212E. They both are well worn, but are good for they're 74 years of service.
